Q: What is the battery life?
A: High - 8hrs (of useable light)
Medium - 15 hrs
Low - 28 hrs
Q: How many batteries does it use?
A: It uses 3 regular AA batteries.
Q: Can you mount it to a helmet or hardhat?
A: Absolutely. To ensure that the headlamp stays securely in place, we recommend attaching the front and back of it to your helmet with heavy-duty fasteners such as Scotch Heavy-Duty Fasteners or Scotch Fasteners Extreme. They are 3X stronger than regular Velcro and won’t get debris in their fibers like Velcro.
Q: Can I use rechargeable batteries?
A: You can use rechargeable batteries. You will have to take them out and put them in an external charger to charge them. If you do use rechargeable batteries, we recommend Ni-MH batteries. DO NOT use Lithium Batteries.
Q: How waterproof is it? Can I use it in the rain?
A: It has a waterproof rating of IP44, which means it can withstand a low velocity sprays of water from every direction. We use ours in the rain all the time.
Q: A head strap is twisted. What do I do?
A: The head straps are actually removable. (See the instruction card below.) Just take the strap off, twist it, and put it back on so it is straight.
Q: Is it comfortable? Is the battery box on the back heavy and annoying?
A: The battery box on the back actually makes it very comfortable because the weight is evenly distributed. Also, with a strap going over the top of your head, the headlamp stays in place and doesn't slide down, requiring constant readjusting like other headlamps.
Q: How heavy is it?
A: It only weighs 9.6 ounces with batteries.
Q: I have a big head. Will it fit?
A: All 3 straps are adjustable, so you can make them as lose or tight as you want. You can make it fit a very small head, a big head, or anything in between.
Q: Would this be a good gift for my 12 year old who loves to hunt?
A: Absolutely! I would just really make sure that kids understand that this thing is REALLY bright. They shouldn't point it at oncoming cars or in other people's eyes.
